Victorian Fireplaces specialise in the supply, restoration, manufacture and customisation of antique and Victorian fireplaces in Cape Town. With a passion for traditional craftsmanship and timeless design, we create fireplaces that add character, warmth and elegance to both period properties and modern homes.
Why Choose Us?
Unlike mass-produced fireplaces, we make every fireplace to order. This means that each piece is individually designed and crafted to suit the style, proportions and requirements of your home. Whether you are looking to restore an original Victorian fireplace, recreate a traditional design, or create something completely unique, we can help bring your vision to life.
Our core business is the traditional built-in fireplace, constructed using firebricks. Firebrick size, layout and style can be varied to achieve different appearances, from simple and understated designs to more elaborate traditional fireplaces. These fireplaces can be complemented by a carefully selected or restored mantelpiece, creating a complete fireplace feature that is both practical and visually striking.
We specialise in everything related to Victorian fireplaces and antique marble mantelpieces, including sourcing, restoration, repairs and customisation. Over the years, we have developed extensive knowledge of the materials, styles and construction techniques associated with traditional fireplaces. This experience allows us to restore old and often neglected fireplaces while retaining the character and charm that makes each piece special.
Fireplace Restoration and Repair
Our restoration and repair services are ideal for homeowners who have an original Victorian or antique fireplace that has been damaged, altered, painted, or simply lost some of its former beauty. Wherever possible, we aim to preserve the original materials and features while carefully repairing and refurbishing the fireplace and its surround.
A fireplace is only complete with the right hearth or fireplace floor, and we manufacture a variety of hearths to complement our fireplaces. These are available in a selection of natural materials, including granite, slate, marble and sandstone. Each hearth can be tailored to suit the fireplace, room and overall style of the property.
Chimney Pots & Fireplace Accessories
We also specialise in the manufacture and customisation of chimney pots. Chimney pots can make an important architectural contribution to the exterior of a property, particularly on Victorian and period homes. We can assist with creating chimney pots that complement the existing character and proportions of your building.
In addition to our fireplaces and restoration services, we stock a selection of fire dogs and other traditional fireplace accessories at our showroom in Retreat, Cape Town. These finishing touches can help complete the look of a traditional fireplace while adding authenticity and functionality.
Whether you are renovating a historic home, restoring an original fireplace, or simply looking to add a beautiful traditional feature to a new property, Victorian Fireplaces offers a complete, bespoke service from design and manufacture through to restoration and finishing.
Our approach is simple: quality materials, traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Every fireplace has its own character, and we take pride in creating pieces that are made to last and designed to be enjoyed for generations.
